TamsPPC sources indicate that Palm is working on two new smartphones to be released sometime this year. According to a developer program email sent to the site by the sources, the new devices are codenamed the Zeppelin and the Skywriter. Developers are asked to submit their applications by May 30th for consideration for additional marketing and sales program opportunities with Palm.
Little is known about the two devices but it’s not the first time we hear the codename Zeppelin. It surfaced back in early 2008 in a story about Palm’s future mobile operating system. TamsPPC also suggests that the Skywriter could be a Palm 500 device running Windows Mobile 6.1. But that’s it for details (except for a picture of what appears to be a development unit).
Both new devices should be out in Q3 2008, according to the leaked email.
And where are the Palm Drucker and Wanda supposed to be in all this?
