While Opera is not as popular a browser as Firefox among Gadgetorama visitors, I thought I’d still pass on the news that Opera has announced the release of Opera 9.5, the latest version of its own browser. Opera’s cross-device expertise, support for open Web standards and commitment to speed and performance culminate to create the most powerful Opera browser yet.
Among the many enhancements to be found in Opera 9.5 are the following:
- Opera Link to keep your bookmarks, Speed Dial and notes taken in the Opera browser synchronized with Opera Mini, Opera’s free browser for your mobile phone.
- Quick Find that makes it easy to find matching text on any page that you visited
- A new interface that promises a more modern look (with platform specific skins to match the look and feel of your operating system) and more intuitve controls
- Improved defense against malware and phishing
- Performance improvements to the email client, RSS feeds and browser itself
Opera 9.5 is available as a free download for Linux, Mac and PC computers directly from www.opera.com.
