The Open Handset Alliance announced today that 14 new members have joined its ranks.
By joining the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance, the following companies demonstrate their support for Android as an open mobile platform and their commitment to its commercial success.
Among the fourteen companies that joined, Asustek, Huawei, and Sony Ericsson indicated their intention to build Google mobile phones. Other new members plan to contribute code, applications and hardware solutions to the Android Open Source Project.
With the new members, the Open Handset Alliance numbers almost 50 members.
