According to Reuters sources, Nokia will unveil its first touchscreen mobile phone on October 2nd. Codenamed the Tube, it could be the latest device in Nokia’s XpressMusic sub-brand and is expected to be powered by the Symbian S60 Touch operating system.
It is possible that Nokia will also formally announce its new Comes With Music service. It is expected to offer unlimited music access on a subscription basis. Unlike other such services, customers will be able to keep the music that they have downloaded at the end of the subscription period.
Back in July, Nokia announced its intention to enter the touchscreen handset market with not just one device but a complete portfolio of devices that would cover everything from the low-end to the high-end of the market. If so, this is but the first salvo from Nokia.
