Earlier this week, Nokia outlined some of the changes that were coming in its upcoming Maemo 5, the operating system that it uses in its Nokia Internet Tablet devices.
Among the new features will be support for HSPA connectivity (the code was also contributed to the Linux Foundation), the adoption of the higher speed TI OMAP 3 processor (which comes with an integrated image/video/audio accelerator called IVA 2), and support for high definition cameras. Backwards compatibility for older devices was not discussed.
Nokia did not have any news on specific devices using Maemo 5 and there was no word on when we could expect to see one.
