Now that the Sprint Xohm WiMAX service is up and running (in Baltimore and coming soon to Chicago and Washington, D.C. and a bit later to Dallas, Fort Worth, Boston, Providence, and Philadelphia), WiMAX devices are slowly starting to appear to take advantage of the new speeds (up to 4Mpbs downstream). One that had been announced back in April is the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet – WiMAX Edition. While you can now order it directly from Nokia USA for USD$443 after discount, it currently shows as backordered.
The WiMAX Edition features the same 4.13-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 2GB of internal memory, integrated GPS, integrated VGA web camera, and slide-out QWERTY keyboard as the original N810.
The Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition comes with an extended 1500mAh battery, a travel charger, a stereo headset, a data cable and a carrying pouch.
