Nokia announced yesterday that its N-Gage and Nokia Maps services are coming to Rogers Wireless.
This services agreement between Nokia and Rogers is the first such agreement with a wireless carrier in North America, further establishing Rogers Wireless’ leadership in delivering Canadian consumers leading-edge wireless data experiences.
Nokia Maps will provide navigation directions to users with on-screen maps of over 160 countries and millions of points of interest. It provides satellite images, street maps and a combination of the two. It also provides turn-by-turn visual and voice guidance in 46 languages, and dynamic re-routing to avoid trouble spots.
The Nokia N-Gage service provides a variety of mobile games. Players can also connect with other users through the N-Gage Arena community which includes message boards, live chat, tournaments and more.
The two services are currently available only to Nokia N95 8GB users. Interestingly, the Canadian Nokia site shows that both services are available for download for a number of smartphones (including the N96 which is not available in Canada yet).
