Solo Mobile is the latest Canadian wireless carrier to announce new plans and a couple of new smartphones.
On the plan side, Solo Mobile is waiving both the System Access Fee and e911 service charges for customers who sign up for a two-year Solo in the City plan (the CAD$40 per month offers 2,000 minutes and the CAD$60 per month plan gives you 4,250 minutes). Solo Mobile is also introducing four new Unbeatable plans, starting at CAD$15 per month. The new plans with local calling and text messaging also come with waived System Access Fee and e911 service charges until December 31, 2008.
Solo Mobile also announced the Samsung CLEO (model SCH-u440), a flip smartphone with full QWERTY thumb keyboard, and the RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone. The Samsung CLEO is available for as low as CAD$100 with a three-year service contract while the BlackBerry Pearl is not yet listed on the Solo Mobile site.
