More details about the Treo 800w surfaced today. Earlier this month, it may even have made an appearance at CES during the keynote by Bill Gates. At one point, an unknown Treo device appeared on the screen behind him and many conjectured that it was in fact the Treo 800w.
A leaked Vodafone 2008 roadmap also revealed an upcoming Treo device codenamed Drucker. Details showed that it would be powered by the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, a 320×320 touchscreen, display, QWERTY keyboard, 2MP camera, integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 1500mAh battery.
According to the latest rumours, the Treo 800w will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.0 when it is released but will be compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1. It promises to be about as thin as a Centro and will have on/off switches for the ringer as well as Wi-Fi. Interestingly, the latest rumours also have the Treo 800w being offered by Sprint and coming with an EvDO Rev. A radio. It will also have 256MB ROM and a microSD expansion slot. Like the earlier rumours, these indicate that the Treo 800w will also have a 2MP camera, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR,
The Treo 800w could be available as early as April.
