It looks like HTCmail is now almost open for business. The service had been originally announced at the time of the release of the HTC TyTN II.
Take control of your communications with HTCmail, the fastest and simplest way to access critical business information on your phone.
No need to worry about different accounts or server settings, with HTCmail all your emails, appointments, contacts, files and more are collected into one central location that can be accessed whenever you want, wherever you want. From your phone, your office PC, or any computer connected to the internet – the choice is yours.
HTCmail comes with 2GB of storage capacity and is compatible with both Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices. It supports Microsoft Direct Push email, access for up to 5 POP3 or IMAP email accounts, Outlook Web Access plus Outlook Desktop 2007 and auto-device configuration for easy set-up.
Prices start at €11.66 for service and there is a 2 month free trial. A valid HTC IMEI number is required.
Update: It turns out that HTCmail is not quite ready for prime time. HTC confirmed to french site Mobinaute that the current link is reserved for developers and translators. The official launch is expected in the upcoming weeks. Until then, pricing for the service could still change.
