HTC has announced a new partnership with Reliance Communications to bring CDMA versions of its devices to India. Under the alliance, HTC’s world-class CDMA handsets will be exclusively provided on Reliance Communication’s state-of-the-art wireless network providing high quality voice, data and video communication across 15,000 towns and 6 lakh Indian villages, seamless data connectivity with 100 percent data enabled base stations and high speed mobile internet access on CDMA 1X technology.
HTC goes on to announce its first two devices for this market: The HTC P3000 and the HTC S720. Both will be available by the end of March from Reliance Mobile World and leading HTC Authorised Resellers across the country. The HTC P3000 and HTC S720 will sell for RS16,500 and RS19,500 respectively.
On the GSM side, HTC also announced that the HTC TyTN II with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS connectivity is headed to India. It is available immediately from authorized resellers for RS33,000.
