This may be as close as we in North Americans get to the HP iPAQ 614 Business Navigator. Matt over at Tracy and Matt’s Blog has posted a video of the unboxing of the iPAQ 614 as well as some very early impressions.
I haven’t had much time to use the 614 as yet but my initial thoughts are that this is a well designed and built device which looks attractive and seems to perform well. I have to say, however, that it is a lot bigger than I expected it to be, I thought it would similar to the HTC S730 but in terms of size it’s slightly larger than the TyTN II!
Earlier this year, HP decided that not to offer the 610 series in North America due to either quality and/or legal issues (HP never really confirmed one way or the other).
The iPAQ 610 series is powered by a 520MHz Marvell processor and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, GPS, 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, an optional 3MP camera and a microSD slot. It also features a Smart Touch Wheel, 3-way thumb wheel and 12-key numeric pad.
A review should follow shortly.
