As promised, Mozilla has released the first alpha of Fennec, its new Firefox Mobile browser.
The focus of development so far has been on building a new user interface that reflects Firefox’s design principles, and adds touch screen support and other features that are appropriate for mobile phones and other handheld devices.
This early version is intended only for testing purposes and is intended to get wider community feedback on our approach to the user experience, engage Mozilla community teams, and get feedback from Web developers.
Future alpha versions (including ones for Windows Mobile devices) will focus more on performance and optimization.
