Fido, a subsidiary owned by Rogers Wireless, has confirmed that it will also offer the Apple iPhone 3G starting on July 11th.
“Fido services and devices suit our customers’ urban lifestyles, so
iPhone 3G is the perfect fit for Canadians looking to be fashionable like this amazing wireless device,” said Rob Bruce, President, Rogers Wireless, owner of the Fido brand.
Apple Canada had let slip the news on the day that it announced the iPhone 3G so confirmation was widely expected.
As with Rogers Wireless, Fido will offer the 8GB iPhone 3G for CAD$199 and the 16GB version for CAD$299 with three-year contracts. Voice and data plans and pricing will be announced later.
