Along with a rendering of what the XT2 will look like, there are some details about specifications. It will be built on the Intel Centrino 2 platform (code name Montevina) with a choice of Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) or Low Voltage (LV) processors. It will come with a new UMA graphics core to support Vista Aero, an eSATA port, 2 USB ports, an ExpressCard 34 slot, and an SDHC slot. Like the original XT, it will have a 12.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) display.
Dell is also looking at the possibility of integrating an optical drive into the tablet itself. The current XT does not have one and the optional Media Base is required instead.
The Dell XT2 Convertible Tablet is expected to launch in November 2008.
