After its debut in Japan late last month, the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is now available for order in the United States. Shipments are expected to start in early December.
Prices start at USD$549 for its most basic configuration (1.33GHz Atom processor, Windows Vista Home Basic Edition SP1, 12.1-inch WXGA display, 1GB RAM, 40GB hard drive, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and a 3-cell battery) and top out at USD$649 (after USD$80 instant rebate) for a version that offers a 1.6GHz Atom processor, an 80GB hard drive, a 6-cell battery and a two-year limited warranty with mail-in service.
Versions with Windows XP or Ubuntu as well as SSDs are not yet available.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is also showing up on the Dell Canada site but does not show any pricing. Instead, customers are advised to please call for latest prices.
