PalmInfocenter has learned from a reliable source that Palm has codenamed its new operating system Nova.
Apparently, Palm has also has an early version of Nova already running on an unreleased future Palm device codenamed Zeppelin. Palm also hopes to have Nova out to developers by the end of the year. It could also make some partner and developer announcements by then. If so, Palm has about a year to convince many, including former partners, that this effort will not end up like PalmOS 6 and that their efforts to develop applications for the new OS will be worth it.
If this timeline does not slip, we could see the new OS on Palm devices as early as February 2009.
