Bus and train directions land on Google Maps for mobile

Google Maps for mobile

The latest version of Google Maps for mobile has been released and people who use transit will like this latest update. Version 2.2 will let you get transit directions for more than 40 North American cities, including Chicago, San Fransisco, Seattle and Vancouver. It will also tell you when the last train or bus of the day is leaving. The My Location feature (where available) also makes it easy to set your journey’s starting point.

Among the other enhancements in this version are faster searching on BlackBerry devices and star ratings for businesses.

The latest version of Google Maps for mobile is available for BlackBerry devices and most Java-based phones (support for other devices promised). To download it, simply visit http://www.google.com/gmm on your mobile phone (or from a desktop to send yourself the link).
