The guessing game is over (at least in Canada). Rogers Wireless has announced that the BlackBerry Bold will be available as of August 21st. As reported earlier, it will cost CAD$399.99 with a three-year service contract (don’t forget about the 6GB data plan for CAD$30/month being offered until the end of the month).
The BlackBerry Bold is powered by a 624MHz Intel processor and comes with a half-VGA (480×320) display, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900)and tri-band HSDPA/UMTS (850/1900/2100) connectivity, 128MB Flash memory and an additional 1GB on-board memory, integrated GPS, 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with full A2DP support, a 2MP camera, dual speakers, and a microSDHC expansion slot. On the software side, the BlackBerry Bold features an improved Web browser, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager with Roxio PhotoSuite 9 LE and the new BlackBerry Media Sync application which lets user sync their BlackBerry with their iTunes music collection.
If CAD$400 seems a bit steep, you can always enter the contest that Rogers is running with 10 BlackBerry Bolds up for grab. All you have to surrender is your email address.
