AT&T has released details, including service plan pricing, for the release of the Apple iPhone 3G on July 11th. As expected, the 8GB iPhone 3G will sell for USD$199 and the 16GB for USD$299 with a two year service contract.
On the service plan side, the plans all come with unlimited data:
- AT&T Nation plans:
- USD$69.99 – 450 anytime minutes and 5,000 night and weekend minutes (USD$0.45 per additional minute)
- USD$89.99 – 900 anytime minutes and unlimited night and weekend minutes (USD$0.40 per additional minute)
- USD$109.99 – 1,350 anytime minutes and unlimited night and weekend minutes (USD$0.35 per additional minute)
- USD$129.99 – Unlimited minutes
- AT&T FamilyTalk plans (2 lines and unlimited night and weekend minutes, USD$39.99 per additional line):
- USD$129.99 – 700 anytime minutes (USD$0.45 per additional minute)
- USD$149.99 – 1,400 anytime minutes (USD$0.40 per additional minute)
- USD$169.99 – 2,100 anytime minutes (USD$0.35 per additional minute)
- USD$209.99 – 3,000 anytime minutes (USD$0.25 per additional minute)
- USD$259.99 – 4,000 anytime minutes (USD$0.20 per additional minute)
- USD$359.99 – 6,000 anytime minutes (USD$0.20 per additional minute)
- USD$259.99 – Unlimited minutes (USD$129.99 per additional line)
You will need to add an additional SMS plan if you want this feature. Prices for SMS plans range from USD$5 per month for 200 SMS on an individual plan to USD$30 per month for unlimited SMS on FamilyTalk plans.
It also looks like AT&T will offer the Apple iPhone 3G without a service contract in the near future: Coming soon, AT&T will offer a no-commitment option of $599 for 8GB and $699 for 16GB.
