A new OQO model powered by an Intel Atom processor was spotted on display during a keynote at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) currently underway. While there has not been a product refresh at OQO in a while, Dennis Moore, OQO CEO, pointed out that this is only a technology showcase, not an impending product announcement. Moore goes on to explain that the demonstration was intended to show what an Atom processor should be expected to do in a product aimed at mobile users.
Apparently, OQO was chosen for the demonstration as the platform showed the best performance and productivity among other small devices in the same class.
Now that OQO and Intel have managed to squeeze an Atom processor into the OQO form factor and shown how well it works, can a product announcement really be far behind?
