ASUS finally officially announced the new Eee PC 900 today at the CeBIT tradeshow in Germany. As expected, it will feature a wider 8.9-inch display, 1GB RAM, and an SSD capacity of up to 12GB.
Complete specifications are not yet available but ASUS confirmed that the resolution of the new Eee was 1024×600. The processor will probably be a 900MHz Celeron again but there is also a chance that it could be a newer and more powerful one. It will have 3 USB ports, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, an SDHC expansion slot, an a 0.3MP camera. It will also be slightly thicker and heavier (about 1 kg or 2.2 lbs compared to 0.91 kg or 2 lbs for the Eee 700 series).
The Eee PC 900 will be certified Windows Ready and both Linux and Windows XP configurations will be offered.
It will sell for 399€ with 12GB SSD and will be available by the summer.
