In the latest installment of ‘Where is the iPhone headed next?’ comes news that Apple is Apple is in talks with Thailand’s Advanced Info Service (AIS) to bring the iPhone to that country. An AIS executive confirmed the discussions and indicated that, as it has done with other carriers, Apple is asking for a revenue sharing plan. There are no details as to when we can expect the discussions to wrap up though.
AIS has about 24.5 million subscribers which amounts to about half of the Thai wireless market.
Apple has already had discussions with carriers in China (with China Mobile) and in Japan (with NTT DoCoMo Inc. and Softbank Corp.).
