According to TmoNews.com, T-Mobile will begin to offer its first Android-powered mobile phone as a pre-sale on September 17th. As widely rumoured, this first Android phone will in fact be the HTC Dream (also known at T-Mobile as the G1).
TmoNews.com also reports that the HTC Dream will sell for USD$399 with no contract and about USD$150 with a contract (presumably for two years). According to TmoNews.com’s source, the HTC Dream will only be available to current T-Mobile customers during the pre-sale and will only become widely available sometime in October.
The T-Mobile version is expected to be offered in black, white or brown. It should pack 3G connectivity, a 3MP camera, a touchscreen display measuring 5- by 3-inches, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Interestingly, a GMail account will be required.
The pre-sale will only last one week. Better book it in your calendar if you’re interested!
