Arne over at the::unwired has been doing some more sleuthing at the Bluetooth SIG web site and has found the first evidence of a new HTC smartphone. The site itself reveals absolutely nothing aside from the fact that the HTC CONV100 will be available in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. This suggests at minimum a quad-band 2.5G device.
Arne also deducts that this must be a very new device based on the product ID number. The last Windows Mobile smartphone announced by HTC was the HTC P3470 (codename Pharos) which had an ID of 4636. The CONV100 has an ID of 4822, indicating a much more recent filing. It might even be the mysterious T-Mobile MDA compact IV seen at CeBIT this week which is rumoured to be a new HTC Windows Mobile Professional smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.1 and coming with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi and GPS.
