One detail that was missing from yesterday’s announcement of new Microsoft Zunes was the release date (beyond a general November). Today, Gizmodo received confirmation from Microsoft that it would be on November 13. The confirmation came after Amazon leaked the date when it began to offer the new Zunes for pre-order.
Some new details are also available now:
- Unlike the 30GB Zune, the new Zunes feature a screen made of glass
- The Flash Zune screen offers the same resolution as that of the 80GB Zune despite being smaller
- Synching will stop any activity, including listening to music
- The Zune Pass will give you access to songs in the DRM catalogue but will still wrap them in DRM to identify them as rentals
