Apple announced today that the iPhone will come with an application that will allow you to watch YouTube content over Wi-Fi or EDGE networks. YouTube will encode their videos in the H.264 format which the iPhone will support. Over 10,000 videos will be available on June 29, and YouTube will be adding more each week until their full catalog of videos is available in the H.264 format this fall.
Apple also announced that the free software update to let you stream YouTube content from your Apple TV is now available. Once the update is installed, a new YouTube menu option will be available to provide access to featured videos, most viewed videos, recent videos, and top rated videos. Users will also be able to view and save their favourite videos.
