Microsoft has issued what is hopefully the last fix necessary to use your Apple iPod on your Microsoft Vista PC. It addresses an issue where some users encountered data corruption problems when ejecting their iPods. The problem could occur when using either Windows Explorer or the Safely Remove Hardware function in the system tray.
If this patch is too late for you: If the data on the iPod is corrupted, select the iPod in the Apple iTunes user interface. Then, on the Summary tab, click Restore to restore the iPod to working condition.
The patch will also be available through Windows Update on May 22nd.
