Just a quick reminder for our German and UK readers: The Apple iPhone lands today (with firmware 1.1.2). In Germany, it has already gone on sale but UK buyers will need to wait until 6:02 tonight to get their hands on one from O2. In the UK, it will be available for £269 (including VAT) through Apple’s retail and online stores, O2 and The Carphone Warehouse retail stores. In Germany, it will be available through Telekom Shops of Deutsche Telekom and the T-Mobile web shop and will sell for €399 (including V.A.T.).
Apple will also release a new firmware update for existing Apple iPhone and iPod touch users. Version 1.1.2 includes a patch for the TIFF exploit, wider support for international keyboards and improved special character support. UK users will also get access to The Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots. The update will also support the creation of calendar appointments on the iPod touch. Look for it next time you sync up with iTunes.
The iPhone will also debut in France on November 29th on the Orange network.
