A few more details about the upcoming iPhone have emerged.
ARM Holdings has revealed that the Apple iPhone will use no less than three ARM processors (and possibly more). it’s at least three, said Warren East, president and chief executive officer of the company in a recent interview.
The main processor is a Marvell PXA 320, itself an an evolution of the StrongARM processor lineup developed by Digital Equipment Corp. under an architectural license from ARM. It currently runs up to speeds of 806MHz and includes both Intel SpeedStep and MusicMax technologies for power management and a Wireless MMX 2 2D accelerator that can support cameras up to 5MP.
