China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile carrier, has announced that its subscriber base has grown to 301 million. It now has more customers than there are US citizens!
Though Chinese subscribers rely on pre-paid phone cards and pay around 80 percent less than Americans for mobile phone service, their typical investment of $10 per month represents 7 percent (or more) of their monthly salary.
