The solid state drive capacity race is now well and truly under way. Last week, Taiwanese A-Data is showing off a 128GB solid state drive (SSD) as well as smaller 64 and 32GB models. The 128GB drive comes in a 2.5-inch format while the two smaller ones come in 1.8-inch format. The drives will come with ExpressCard, IDE and SATA interfaces.
Mass production is expected to start in late Q1 or early Q2. Pricing information and names of potential manufacturers who could use the drives in upcoming products were not revealed.
A-Data’s announcement follows SSD announcements from PQI, Sandisk and Samsung.
