Bill Gates delivered the Keynote Address tonight as CES 2007 kicks off. Here is a quick summary of the highlights:
- Demo of Vista (including some Vista Ultimate edition extras) Office 2007, and Office Live services
- Announcement of Windows Home Server to provide centralized storage for households where there are multiple computers and gadgets such as Xboxes and Zunes. Release date expected in the second half of the year.
- Look for new services and hardware as well as improved software for the Zune
- A plug for Windows Mobile phones that continue to deliver additional functionality
- IPTV is coming to the Xbox 360 (although there was no mention of the second version of the Xbox 360) by the end of the year
- Ford adding Bluetooth voice-activated controls to its Lincoln and Mercury lines to support mobile phones and digital audio players
Basically, there are enough nuggets there to tell me that Gadgetorama will have plenty to share with you this year!
