With Amp’d Mobile in its last death throes, it comes as no big surprise that Telus Mobility has announced that it has stopped selling Amp’d Mobile Canada products and services. While the service only lasted about four months in Canada, at least it died a more graceful death than its US counterpart. “It’s been an uncertain situation, and at this point we felt that it’s best to discontinue sales in Canada,” said Telus spokeswoman Julie Smithers.
Current subscribers can still make calls and retrieve messages but Telus will be contacting them soon to discuss alternative wireless services.
Telus never revealed how many the Amp’d service had in Canada.
