At a press event earlier this week, Samsung announced the SGH-i780 smartphone which had been first spotted at GITEX last month.
In terms of specs, the SGH-i780 is powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional. It comes with tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and single-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, a 2.55-inch 320×320 touchscreen display, a QWERTY keyboard and an optical joystick (allowing for 360 degree navigation on menus, Internet and applications), 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, built-in A-GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 2MP back-facing camera and a front-facing VGA camera, and a microSD expansion slot.
At the same event, Samsung unveiled a whole slew of other phones including the G800 which comes with a 5MP camera and 3x zoom, the dual face F330 slider featuring external music control keys, the HSDPA F700 which features a full touch screen, touchpad interaction and QWERTY keypad and still others.
The Samsung SGH-i780 is expected to be available starting in January.
