Rogers Wireless expands HSDPA and VISION service coverage

Rogers Wireless announced today that it had rolled out its HSDPA network to some 25 new markets across Canada. Quebec City, Greater Montreal, Trois-Rivières, Chicoutimi, Gatineau, Greater Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Whistler, Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Ottawa/Gatineau, Kingston, Sudbury, Barrie, London, Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph and Windsor join the Ontario Golden Horseshoe area in getting coverage to the 3G network.

With its new 3G network, Rogers will offer its VISION service. With Rogers VISION, customers can communicate in entirely innovative ways with mobile multimedia and visual services, such as video-on-demand, including, online community sites like Facebook, MySpace and YouTube, 27 channels of Mobile Television and video programs with incredible clarity; radio-on-demand, featuring live XM Satellite radio; and Rogers MusicStore with one million music tracks. Moreover, the Rogers HSPA network allows business customers to save time by taking their high-speed broadband office experience on the road with incredibly fast wireless Internet and multimedia access.

On the device side, Rogers offers the Samsung A706, the LG TU500, the LG Shine Slider as well as a slew of business high-speed wireless devices such as the Motorola Q9H, the Palm Treo 750, the HTC TyTN and the GT Max PC Card.

Now if only we could get an affordable data rate to go with that!
