Pharos, best known for its GPS devices, has announced the GPS Phone (yes, that’s the name). Pharos’ Ostia navigation and routing software (with Canada and US maps) will come with the phone.
Essentially a rebadged Glofiish X500, the GPS Phone features the same specs. It will be a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE device powered by a 400MHz Samsung processor and Windows Mobile 5.0. It will come with 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS using the SiRFStar III chipset, a 2MP camera and an FM radio (with RDS). It will also have an unlocked SIM card slot.
Pharos should release the GPS Phone in February for $699 USD.
