Palm unveiled a new Smartphone called the Centro today at a Sprint event for media and analysts. Aimed at a younger demographic that has not traditionally used smartphones, the Centro will run the PalmOS and will feature a QWERTY keyboard (with small clear rubber keys that are apparently difficult to type with), EDGE connectivity, a touchscreen. It will also be the smallest Treo in the lineup. More specific details are slim but hopefully we will get more information soon.
It looks like this could be the elusive device known either as Gandolf or Treo 800 during development.
The Centro could be available as early as this fall for US$99 with a service contract. Sprint will have a 90-day exclusive once it launches.
