OQO has announced some enhancements to its model 02 product line. The enhancements come in the areas of storage, faster processors and connectivity, and reduced prices.
In the area of storage, OQO now offers a 120GB option and boosted the entry-level model to 40GB and the standard configuration to 80GB. A 32GB SSD option is also available, delivering faster performance, increased battery life, comparatively lighter weight, and improved reliability.
On the processor side, OQO will now offer a 1.6GHZ processor (up from 1.5GHz). And the WWAN configuration will now come with EV-DO Rev. A connectivity.
Lastly, pricing on the entry level model 02 has been reduced by US$200 to US$1,299. At that price, the configuration comes with a 1.2GHz processor, 512MB RAM, a 40GB hard drive, 802.11 a/b/g, and Windows XP Home. That price jumps to US$2,349 if you choose the configuration with 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB SSD, 802.11 a/b/g, and your choice of Windows XP Pro or Vista.
