Last week, Paul McCartney announced that his latest album, “Memory Almost Full,” will be released on June 5th. It will be available not only as a CD but also as a digital download (including iTunes) and for streaming as well. Why is this big news? It isn’t really but for the fact that McCartney hinted that a deal to offer the Beatles catalog online was “virtually settled.” during the interview with Billboard Magazine.
Rumours that the Beatles catalog was headed to iTunes have been floating for quite a while (I first posted about this back in November 2006).
EMI also confirmed that the entire Paul McCartney solo catalogue will be available for download from iTunes and other online music stores.
