Remember the O2 Xda Flame, that impressive-looking upcoming Pocket PC phone? It is now available for pre-order at Australian site Anything Online for the princely sum of $1,541.36 AUD (about $1100 USD). Ouch!
The O2 Flame features some impressive specs: 3.6-inch VGA screen, 3G support, 520MHZ Intel XScale PXA270 processor and an NVIDIA GoForce 5500 GPU, 2GB ROM, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, a 2MP camera with flash, a secondary camera for video calling, SRS Mobile HD surround sound support, TV-out, Bluetooth, a microSD slot, an FM tuner and an IR port. The one downside (aside from the price) is that it appears that the Flame will only be tri-band.
It remains to be seen how much carriers will subsidize the Flame (probably at the cost an eternal service plan).
