Michael Dell, the Dell CEO, showed off the upcoming Latitude XT tablet yesterday at Oracle OpenWorld. Some interesting new details emerged during the presentation. As demonstrated, the tablet will support multi-touch recognition. A video shows how this could be applied in real life applications.
As reported earlier, the Latitude XT tablet should feature a 12.1-inch touchscreen display with either CCFL or LED backlighting and should be powered by a 1.2GHz Ultra Low Voltage Core 2 Duo U7600 processor and a 256MB ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics card. It will reportedly support up to 3GB of memory, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11 n available as an option), in a package weighing less than 1.8 kilograms (4 pounds).
The Dell Latitude XT tablet will ship in a few months. A more precise date was not specified.
