Last week, I reported that HP users should not expect Windows Mobile 6 upgrades for the iPAQ hw6900 and rw6800 series. According to CNET, you can now add the rx4000 and rx5000 series to that list. HP will continue to ship these devices with Windows Mobile 5.0. HP iPAQ hx2000 owners can continue to hope as there have been a few hints that this series will get the upgrade.
According to HP, the potential for long delays, as well as possible carry-over costs are the reasons for their decision.
Future devices, including the upcoming HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger, will come with Windows Mobile 6 though.
