More Google phone rumours

Google

DigiTimes is reporting that HTC has begun manufacturing Google handsets. Up to one million units will be ready in time for the launch expected at the end of the year. Their sources indicate that it will support both EDGE and 3G but will not include GPS. As befits the name, it would come with Google Search and GMail. The device would be co-branded by the carrier and Google.

The Google Phone would first launch in Europe with Orange but Google is also looking to partner with other carriers.

Google phone rumours go back to late 2006 when it was first suggested that HTC would manufacture such a device for Google and partner Orange.
