HTC P5500 Nike

DigiTimes is the latest to indicate that HTC will launch its 3.5G P5500 Touch II (codename Nike) touch-screen smartphone as soon as next month. Could the P5500 arrival in the US be affected by the ban on Qualcomm 3G chipsets given that the P5500 will make use of Qualcomm chipsets?

Earlier rumours indicate that the P5500 will be powered by a 400MHz Samsung processor and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. It is also expected to come with 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, a 2.6-inch QVGA screen, quad-band GSM/GPRS/UMTS and HSDPA, an FM tuner, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, integrated GPS, a microSD slot and a 3MP camera.

The HTC Touch is also expected to reach the milestone of one million units shipped by the end of the year, making it the most popular HTC-branded device to date.
