Mitac has unveiled the Mio A501, its latest Pocket PC Phone with integrated GPS. Featuring quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, it is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC Phone Edition AKU 3.5 and a 200MHz TI processor. It also comes with a 2.7-inch QVGA screen, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, a 2MP camera, a SiRF Star III GPS chipset, SD/MMC slot and Bluetooth 2.0.
Unfortunately, it lacks Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities. And with so many Windows Mobile 6 announcements already, Mitac may find that there is less interest in this device than if it came with Windows Mobile 6.
The Mio A501 is expected to hit the streets in March. Pricing has not been disclosed yet.
