As we near the iPhone release, Apple released some new details about their latest gadget. The iPhone battery life has been increased from an original five hours of talk time and 16 hours of audio playback to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback. Standby time has also been increased to up to 250 hours.
Apple also announced that the iPhone display will be made of optical-quality glass rather than plastic to make it more scratch resistant and offer better optical clarity.
The iPhone will be available in the US starting on June 29, 2007 at 6pm (local time) through Apple and select AT&T retail stores as well as Apple’s online store.
