At the CTIA IT & Entertainment show taking place in San Fransisco, i-mate formally announced the Ultimate 6150, 8150, 8502, and 9502. The Ultimate range offers high-end device specifications — including video out that can drive video onto a plasma screen and the fastest radio connection of any Windows Mobile device— in a variety of form factors making them the mobile devices of choice for businesses and consumers seeking both functionality and style. The Ultimate range is powered by the Windows Mobile 6 operating system.
The Ultimate device range features Windows Mobile 6, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, Quad-Band GSM/EDGE, Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA, 2.0 and 3.0 megapixel fixed focus cameras, GPS, WiFi 802.11b/g/e/i, Bluetooth v2.0 EDR connectivity, VGA LCD touchscreen, and a microSD card slot. Yesterday I reported that the 8502 would only have a QVGA display but the new i-mate specs confirm that it will come with a VGA display.
More interesting is the confirmation that the Ultimates will be offered in North America, starting in November. The Ultimate 6150 and 8150 will sell for between USD$695 and USD$725. The Ultimate 8502 and 9502 will follow a bit later in the fourth quarter but pricing was not revealed.
