Once again, it’s time to head over to visit The Boy Genius as he unboxes another device. This time, it’s the HTC Kaiser (to be known as the P4550 whe it hits the street) which will succeed the HTC TyTN. The Boy Genius calls it the best darn Pocket PC I have ever used!
In terms of specs, the HTC P4550 is powered by a 384MHz QualComm processor and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. It will come with 128MB RAM (up from what was first thought) and 256MB ROM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, a 2.8-inch QVGA screen that tilts when the keyboard is out, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, integrated GPS, both a 3MP camera and VGA camera, and a microSD slot.
It also comes with an application called Hubdog which works as an RSS feed reader, podcast downloader and blog publishing tool (currently only supporting Blogger).
The HTC P4550 is expected to be available in October.
