CNET is reporting that HP is working on a gaming handheld. Details are sketchy but a prototype called Mscape was revealed during a presentation by Rahul Sood, chief technology officer of HP’s gaming division. Consisting of a handheld device as well as sensors set up by the game organizer, it would apparently use the player’s surroundings as a backdrop for the game. The sensors would trigger game events (for example, a bad guy attacks you, a new level or bonuses).
The device and its sensors could use technologies such as motion sensors and GPS to deliver that immersive experience.
Another option would be to develop the technology and license it for use on existing hardware (like your notebook).
